Pianist Arthur Hanlon recently came to Trumann, Arkansas, to shoot an MTV video for “Hijo de la Luna” (“Son of the Moon”) from his new album, Mecanomanía. The seasoned young virtuoso—an Irish-American born in Detroit, Michigan, who studied piano at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music—discovered a love for Latin music and culture during his sojourn in the Big Apple. Hanlon’s ability to combine his Irish spirit with the fire of Latin music has earned him legions of fans around the world. Several scenes from Hanlon’s video were shot in the Baldwin factory in Trumann, while another spectacular shoot took place at the edge of Lake Poinsett, in Harrisburg, Arkansas. “The video will have a total of about eight scenes,” details executive producer Armando Rodriguez. “We will be shooting a scene at the lake, where the piano will look like it’s floating.” The video scenario is about Hanlon and his muse, who was played by actress Ana Carla Sinclair. In the video, Sinclair will work in the factory and also be filmed swimming underwater. The video will be released on MTV in the U.S. and on various music channels in Europe, Mexico, and in several other South American countries. In a recent visit to the Baldwin factory, Hanlon was wowed by the workers’ attention to detail. “I’ve always said they are the best instruments in the world,” Hanlon enthused. “After witnessing firsthand how they’re made, I have no doubt. They have such a beautiful sound because they are made with all the care in the world. Everything is done by hand.” Hanlon, an exclusive Baldwin artist, played a Baldwin piano on his hit “La Gorda Linda” and throughout Mecanomanía. In the video, he also plays an antique Baldwin piano made in 1902. |
